From Dhanuk to Rafi Nostalgia - A
By LivDemy Studio
By LivDemy Studio ft. Ram Sampath
When it comes to originality, Ram Sampath is a force of nature in the Indian music industry. From when he was very young, he not only has been making incredible tunes that millions love, he is also the composer behind some of the most memorable ad-jingles, independent music (remember Shaan's Tanha dil?), and ofcourse music like Bhaag DK Bose, or Jee Le Zara, that have become anthems.
In very early days, he had also co-created Colourblind, one of the seminal electronic rock albums of the country. Some of the most brilliant Coke Studio (India) renditions were by him as well. He was also the composer of Aamir Khan's Satyamev Jayate.
With such a range of music compositions, Ram Sampath comes across as a creative individual who has done it all. We are proud to have him talk about How to Take Music as a career from a music composition perspective. We dive deep into various aspects of composition, including composing with the lyrics-first approach or music-first approach. We discuss about what your compositions mean in terms of their earning potential. (you may have heard words like 'this song has put my kids into colleges' and so on). A piece of original music has many ways to manifest itself to earn for the creator. We talk about it all.
To complete this session, please attend it during the live premiere of the session, or you may complete at a later time on course page (bit.ly/moodi_liv) This session is brought to you by Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay in collaboration with Livdemy, and on completion of the course, you will receive a certificate from both.
