Hailing from a long lineage of musicians, Tanmay Deochake is one of the strongest proponents of music education. His understanding of music is deeper than just the theory - it is spiritual, almost mystical. With an early beginning on the harmonium and keyboard, Tanmay started out with a clear grasp of the aesthetics of instrumentation and debuted at a reputed music festival at the tender age of 4. With his proficient understanding of the harmonium, he is able to seamlessly compliment any vocals, percussions or classical instruments. By 20, he was already accompanying renowned and honorable musicians, the likes of Ut. Zakir Hussain, Pt. Swapan Chaudhari, Smt. Ashwini Bhide among many, many others. His respect for music stems from his years at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, one of the bastions of traditional gurukul modes of music learning. That is where a lot of his creative virtuosity springs from, which he religiously passes on to his hundreds of students.
